Qualcomm has announced its two latest chipsets, Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 660 platforms. The Qualcomm Snapdragon chips are widely used in all the mobile devices around the world. Till now we have seen Snapdragon 625 and Snapdragon 653 but now Qualcomm will release these new Snapdragon 630 and Snapdragon 660 as mobile platforms instead as processors.
The latest Snapdragon 630 and 660 are completely based on 14nm Finfet process. These new mobile platforms from Qualcomm are having great features and support for 8GB RAM. You can also capture 4k video and playback functions and it also comes with Vulkan API support.
The latest Snapdragon 660 which will be most advanced mobile platform is having capability of displays up to QHD (2K) resolution and on the other hand the Snapdragon 630 will have a support for FHD/QXGA (1080p). Qualcomm stated that the Snapdragon 600-tier platforms will enhance photography and gaming experience in smartphones. The company also claimed that the latest mobile platforms will improve the battery life and also fast LTE speeds.
Qualcomm already started shipping of Snapdragon 660 platform while the Snapdragon 630 shipment will begin by the end of May. The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile platforms will introduce new technologies to the world like x12 modem, Kryo CPU and machine learning algorithm. Mobile devices will get Snapdragon 660 platform by June while the Snapdragon 630 platform devices will come in the third quarter of the year.
