The young all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz of Pakistan cricket got banned from playing cricket for one month and was also imposed fine of $2000. The 23 year old Mohammad Nawaz was approached by a bookmaker to get engaged in corrupt practices (Match fixing). A couple of days back, few bookmakers have approached Mohammad Nawaz but the cricketer didn’t inform to PCB.
Pakistan Cricket Board was anger on this young all-rounder who was considered as the future of Pakistan cricket. Mohammad Nawaz was a member of Twenty20 squad in the West Indies. But without playing even a single match he was sent back to Pakistan and Mohammad Nawaz is the second Pakistani Cricketer to get banned as very recently PCB banned fast bowler Irfan.
Irfan was banned for six months and was also fined huge amount of $10,000. Compared to Irfan’s punishment, Mohammad Nawaz got very less. However a wide-range investigation is being done on Mohammad Nawaz and PCB hasn’t declared any other details yet.
However bookmakers are causing some serious trouble to the Pakistani cricket players. Along with Mohammad Nawaz and Irfan, four other players were also being investigated. If these players were found of committing crime then they would be banned for minimum of five years which happened to salman butt and asif few years before.
