BCCI to announce decision on Champions Trophy by May 7th

champion trophy 2017

Well, this might sound crazy and weird! It’s known to everyone that BCCI is not one of the richest cricket boards in the world but it is the only richest cricket board in the world with millions of revenue. BCCI has got everything starting from wealth to power! But in the few months BCCI has undergone several issues like Indian Supreme Court interfering in the board and few other things.

At present BCCI is getting clashed not only with ICC but with all other cricket boards around the world. When BCCI challenged ICC decision of cancelling Big-3 model no cricket board supported India. Today BCCI is all alone in the world of cricket but it is still the richest cricket board in the world. Its major challenge is still ahead in the form of Champions trophy.

On May 7th India will announce whether it will send team India cricket players for champions trophy or will it boycott champions trophy. Well if India decides to play in champions trophy then that means that BCCI compromised with ICC on big-3 model and this way India would lose its major revenue share in ICC funds. All other cricket boards have announced their cricket teams except India.

But in case if India boycotts champions trophy then along with India even ICC and other cricket boards will also get affected. England is hosting the Champions Trophy 2017. If India plays in any tournament or a series in other countries then they would get lot of revenue and many cricket boards always strive to have series with India. Once Sri Lankan cricket board was in huge debts of more than Rs 100 crore and at that time India went to Sri Lanka to play series and all its debts were cleared with a single series with India.
