Just three weeks earlier AMD has stunned everyone with its powerful Ryzen 7 CPUs and now it is back with few other mid-range CPU’s. AMD is all set to release four new CPU models in mid-range and according to a AMD official, These new AMD Ryzen 5 series CPUs will be more popular than the Ryzen 7. All four CPUs will come with different specifications but with minor changes.
Two CPUs will come with four physical cores while other two CPUs come with six physical cores. All these new CPUs will support simultaneous multithreading. The special feature about these CPUs is, each core can run two threads simultaneously. AMD is set to release four CPUs: Ryzen 5 1400, Ryzen 5 1500 X, Ryzen 5 1600 and Ryzen 5 1600X. From these four CPUs, the fastest CPU is Ryzen5 1600X.
Ryzen 5 1600X will have a 6core, 12 thread with a faster base clock of 3.6GHZ with a boost target of over 4GHZ. This powerful Ryzen 5 1600X is almost similar to Ryzen 7 1800X. However the new Ryzen5 1600X will give a tuff fight to Intel’s i5-7600K. The Ryzen 5 1600 is also faster but it clocks at only 3.2GHZ which is a bit slow when compared to Ryzen 1600X. The AMD Ryzen 1600X is priced at $249 while the Ryzen 1600 is priced at $219.
The other two Ryzen CPUs will come with low end specifications when compared to Ryzen 1600X and 1600. The Ryzen 1500 X comes with quad core/8 thread which runs at 3.5GHZ to 3.7GHZ. Ryzen 1400 also have a quad-core/8 thread but runs slower than all other three CPUs. Ryzen 1400 runs at 3.2GHZ to 3.4GHZ. AMD Ryzen 1500X is priced at $189 while the Ryzen 1400 is available for $169.
These new AMD Ryzen 5 mid-range CPUs will be launched on April 11th but the availability of these new AMD Ryzen 5 series CPUs in various locations are not yet announced. “AMD may release few other CPUs by the end of 2017 with some unique and special features”, said by AMD official.
